Shoe Sale, Shopping Night, Martinis, and Swag Bags!

This was quite the week! 

Shoes were flying out the door at Shoe Soko - the 8Sale is still going on.  I witnessed a customer buy FIVE pair of shoes, including the pair I had my eye on. Darn, I didn't move fast enough!  Good fun, shoes, laughs, music, and customer service ... What more could you ask for?  Hmmmm .... I say a little lunch! 
Anyhoo, if you haven't made it to the Soko SALE ... get your happy feet over there, it continues until the soup pot is empty!   
One more newsworthy comment - ShoeSoko.com should launch within a couple weeks.  I'm looking for an outstanding tag line for Shoe Soko ... Maybe I should have a contest??  Any takers??  OK- $50.00 Gift Certificate for the winner.  My way of saying thanks for the usage of your verbal skills and creative thinking.  I've tried everything - The Sole of Oak Park, We've got Sole, I got my Sole from Shoe Soko ( thought that would be a great tee) those are just a few, the list is l-o-n-g.  So, submit a few ideas and I'll kick them around and see if it fits, excuse the pun, couldn't help myself.

We're having a Shopping Night Out with a few other retailers on Marion Street THIS Thursday.  Ten Thousand Villages, Muse and Careful Peach.  You'll spend 30 minutes in each store and receive tons of goodies aka SwagBag!  I know it's two words - heck, I like the look of the words all mushed up next to one another - looks enVouge! There I go again!   We're planning on having a blast - I thought I would use
Shoe Soko as a MARTINI BAR - sorta like a stop off place en route to your destination to quench your thirst!  There I go again, breaking the darn rules - I'm a rule breaker, always changing thangs! Yep, I said thangs!

ahhhh, back to SNO party - It's 20 bucks and all the fine shopping, food, music and fun a gal could have on a Thursday in Oak Park! Stop by TAKARA and purchase your ticket - Space is going fast!

I'm so looking forward to getting started with Lola!  Miya organized the office and files and we're ready to rock & roll.

Bailey going to be so upset when he realizes that he's staying home ... (Chocolate Poodle)  I will post a pic of him soon, I'm learning the dashboard on this blog & still a bit confused.

8Sale and blogging!

Why blog?    

OK, I decided to create a blog as a result of many request from customers.  A blog to open the doors to fashion in Oak Park! I'm concentrating on Oak Park for various reasons, I live, love and retail here!  In the last year, I've had more than eight request to open a TAKARA boutique in various parts of the country and other suburbs.  I was quite impressed by the requests, however I decided to stay right at home for now!
I love having the boutique in downtown Oak Park on Marion Street.  Marion Street is fast becoming a local meeting place for families and friends to enjoy shopping, dining and entertainment.  Local bands perform in front of Lido's Cafe and folks bring chairs and just relax, especially during the jazz performances.

Give me an opportunity to shake out my focus, I'm so excited I want to talk about everything!

8Sale:
We're in the process of having the 8Sale - Yep ... $18. 28. 38. 48. and 58. for all summer clothing.  I'm also having a sale on TAKARA Signature Collection; this never happens! $58 68. 78. 88 and 98. for beautiful summer imported linen clothing.  The ending of summer always reminds me of a mature woman, she's winding down but got some spunk left in her! So there's plenty of time to wear these lovely pieces, summer isn't over yet!

Shoe Soko:
  Most of you guys know that I opened Shoe clothing.  Soko (111 N. Marion St.) last year, five doors down from TAKARA.  Shoe Soko was a need in downtown Oak Park, it was something missing ... A Women's Comfort Shoe Boutique.  Shoe Soko is lovely and plush with beautiful accessories and shoes that support your body.  If you haven't been there ... stop by and look at the beautiful fall collections shipping in daily.

My husband just walked in the door - He's says he's been laboring on Labor day!  They've been replacing the ceiling at one of our rental properties.  He's in the kitchen looking for a snack, I can hear the fridge open.
